Tasik Melati is about eight kilometres north of Kangar, the capital of Perlis. It is one of the popular tourist attractions in Perlis.

Tasik Melati is a beautiful lake with big trees surrounding it. The trees provide adequate shade, thus making the surrounding area a suitable place for jogging. The lake also offers other variety of activities such as boating, trekking, cycling and picnics. Fishing enthusiast can try their luck at fishing and it’s a great spot for bird watching too.

This lake used to be a fresh water swamp, well-known for a wild plant called 'kercit'. Tasik Melati is a natural wetland that provides water for irrigation. Developed by Jabatan Pengairan dan Saliran in 1977, the water capacity was increased by building an embankment. The purpose was to provide a source of water for 350 acres of paddy field.

Presently, Tasik Melati is popularly known as a recreational park with more than 150 islands or sandbars all over the lake. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful view along the pathways constructed across the lake.
