The Borneo Convention Centre Kuching is the first dedicated convention and exhibition centre in Borneo. The centre is located on a 6-hectare riverfront site in Kuching. Construction of the building commenced in June 2006 and completed in October 2009 at a cost of RM200 million. The centre comprises a plenary hall, a banquet hall and 14 meeting rooms.

The Borneo Convention Centre will be the catalyst for the development of Kuching Isthmus into a vibrant new township. The centre offers the tranquillity of the tropical rainforest yet is easily accessible.

The main element of the convention centre design is its roof structure. It is influenced by the 'ririk' leaf (or scientifically known as Phacelophrynium maximum) that grows in abundance in Sarawak. The leaf is large and is commonly used by the indigenous tribe to wrap rice and other food.

The Borneo Convention Centre has a total of 36,500 sq. m. of floor space. Its internal design offers flexibility with functional spaces of different sizes and has state-of-the-art communication facilities and interpretation facilities, which include four languages.
