Nature Science program is a program designed for children 7-12 years old to encourage young children to do science exploration and experiment with nature. This one day program titled Wildlife Conservation takes children to the National Elephant Conservation Center (NECC) in Kuala Gandah to learn about wildlife conservation, protection, management, and relocation. The NECC center which is part of the Jabatan Perhilitan goes around the Peninsula Malaysia saving elephants and other animals that have been trapped, injured, and hurt by predators and hunters. These injured animals are then brought back to the center for treatment and rehabilitation before releasing it back into the wild. In this program, children will learn to care for these elephants, hike into the forest to investigate animal footprints and learn about the importance of protecting and conserving our wildlife.
A lot of our wildlife animals are on the verge of extinction due to predators and hunters killing them for their body parts. We hope that through this program children will understand the importance of protecting these wildlife and that they will help to educate their friends and families on playing their parts in conserving and protecting these wildlife animals.
