A proponent of Pasca-Negara (or Post-Country), the Kuala Lumpur-based Roadiarc formed in November 2021, looking for good excuses to scream / shout / wail / yell in people’s faces. Current members consist of Nathanji Lau (Bass), Titus Liew (Drums), Tuan Izuddin (Guitar) and Radhi Osman (Vocals & Guitar).

The band has been actively gigging in Kuala Lumpur since January 2022, hitting several strides such as being crowned Champions of the Volkswagen Fest 2022 “Battle of the Bands”, roared along with local heavyweights at the City Roars Fest 2023, and having their debut single “City of Rome” bestowed upon with the title “Best Song of 2023” by Rondivu, Utusan Malaysia.

In Doldrums was released on 29 November 2024 as their debut album, emerging as a symphony of brokenness, raw emotion, and unforeseen redemption. Forged in the crucible of grief, loneliness, and existential despair, the band’s odyssey through personal torment and isolation is woven into each fleeting note. The process, like a tempestuous storm, was fragmented—rough demos, abandoned pop experiments, bandmates lost and found again—but through this tumult, the music became their defiant stand against the consuming darkness, a desperate offering of their pain to the world, seeking solace and perhaps, a flicker of purpose.

What unfolds is a visceral, untamed collection of nine tracks that defy genre, existing somewhere between a post-country fever dream and a mournful cry for deliverance. The band’s erratic journey—fuelled by despair yet tempered with stubborn hope—ultimately coalesces into something unspeakably beautiful in its imperfection, a record that feels like the last breath of a group who, in their deepest hour, found their salvation not in themselves, but in the haunting power of their music.
