
Hot Yin is a calming 60 minutes class targeting the body’s deep connective tissues. This is a great way to balance your active life pursuits and allow your body to tilt back to the equilibrium of the Yin and Yang life forces while immersing in a meditative and calm state of mind. Yin Yoga concentrates on floor postures that passively stress connective tissues, the ligaments and fascia with muscles relaxed. Connective tissue does not stretch like muscle and takes more time to improve mobility and strength. For this reason the room is heated and postures are held for longer periods of time with the aids of props such as blocks and straps. Soft music and lighting are incorporated to further calm the mind and release the spiritual potential this practice offers. Perfect for beginners. Also great for top-notch athletes wanting to protect and strengthen their joints. At our studio, we will practice Yin following the 12 meridians of the body following Chinese Medicine Theory either via tracing or Gua Sha (provided during class). After 6 weekly lessons of Yin, you would have completed the meridians and the cycle starts again the following 6 weeks.
