World Environment Day (WED) is celebrated annually on 5th June as an important global event that highlights the urgent environmental issues and encourages people to take collective action to protect our planet. In 2025, the focus will be on combating plastic pollution, a growing problem that impacts ecosystems, wildlife and communities everywhere. The Republic of Korea will host this year's global celebrations, with the theme 'End Plastic Pollution'.
