Nutrition and physical activity are essential components of a healthy lifestyle for a person living with diabetes. Along with other benefits, following a healthy eating pattern and being active can help to maintain blood glucose levels within the recommended target range. For people with diabetes, the foods they eat can make a difference not only to how they manage their diabetes, but also to how well they feel and how much energy they have. There is no single food or diet recommended for people with diabetes. People can learn to balance their meals, make healthy food choices and still be able to enjoy their favourite foods.
