什麼是佈施的相、作用、現起和近因？
在此必須為上述的名相之定義作一番解釋。
相有兩種：
一、共相，即是每個波羅蜜共同擁有之相；
二、特相（自性相），即是個別波羅蜜專有之相。
例如，在色法之中，四大中的地大有無常與硬這兩個相。在這兩者之中，無常是地大與其他諸大共同擁有之相，因此它是共相。反之，硬是地大專有之相，因此它是特相。
作用也有兩種：
一、執行作用；
二、成就作用。
例如，善法是在克服惡法之後才能生起的，因此它的執行作用是克服惡法。善業的成就是帶來福報，因此善法的成就作用是獲得福報。
當人們對某法（心之目標）深入觀照時，在他心中會呈現出有關該法的本質（自性）、有關它的作用、有關它的原因或有關它的成果。現起是指有關法的本質、作用、原因或成果，當中任何一個呈現在他心中。例如，當某人觀照「什麼是善法？」時，在他心中會現起：
一、有關它的本質：「善法之本質是清淨。」；
二、有關它的作用：「善法克服或對抗惡法。」；
三、有關它的原因：「善法只有在接近善知識時才能生起。」；
四、有關它的成果：「善是令人獲得福報之法。」。
導致某個法生起的最有力與最接近的因素是為近因。例如，在眾多導致善法生起的原因之中，如理作意是最接近與最有力的因素，因此它是近因。

What are the phase, function, present and proximity of giving?

There are two kinds of each other:

When people look deep into a law (heart's goal), there is something in his mind about the nature of the law (Self-Nature), about its role, the reasons about it or the outcome. Now it means the nature, function, reason or outcome of the law, any of which is present in his heart. For example, when someone looks at " what is good law?" it appears in his mind:
About its nature: the essence of good law is pure."
Regarding its role: " good laws overcome or fight against evil laws."
The reason for it: " good law can only be born when close to good knowledge."
Bless with regard to its results: " goodness is the way to get bless rewards.".
The strongest and closest factor that led to a certain law birth is proximity. For example, among the many causes that lead to the birth of good law, such as justification is the closest and most powerful factors, therefore it is proximity.
