GTLF Session Highlights

Political biographies are windows into the specifics of life during the relevant historical period, and challenging as narratives. This session revisits the publication during the COVID-19 period of As Empires Fell. The Life and Times of Lee Hau-Shik, the First Finance Minister of Malaya (2020) and the publication of the Chinese version of The Reluctant Politician this year. Tun Dr Ismail and His Time (2006), both written by Ooi Kee Beng. On stage with Ooi moderating the session will be Tawfik Tun Dr Ismail, the son of Tun Dr Ismail, and Antony Lee, the grandson of Lee Hau-Shik.
