There are social changes happening in the community with a growing awareness on LGBT+. While the topic may be sensitive and controversial, many LGBT+ people find themselves feeling isolated and vulnerable.
Through an open forum, the Buddhist community shall discuss LGBT+ issues relevant to Buddhists, and help to alleviate the emotional pain of the people involved.
With the intention to show and declare that Buddhism does not discriminate against LGBT+, and encourage acceptance of LGBT+ among Buddhists, the forum shall explore the matter from various angles, including the perspective of early Buddhist texts, the cultural and historical perspectives on LGBT+, the science behind human sexuality and gender identity, and the stories of LGBT+ individuals and their relatives.
Date: 10 November 2019, Sunday
Time: 2:00 – 6:00 pm (1:30pm Registration)
Venue: Buddhist Gem Fellowship, Ara Damansara (Level 2)
